Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. At Colincamps on the Ancte on the 5th April 1918, the enemy made a determined attack in superior numbers on the line held by this Battalion. When the infantry attack developed three sections
of Rifleman Moar's platoon were pushed forward beyond the advanced post to form a "spear-hard" to break up the enemy rush. Rifleman?s section being the "point". In this they were successful but then it was found that the enemy had got past the outer flank the two sections were withdrawn to cover it, Rifleman Moar's section being ordered to remain to cover the movement. His section leader being
wounded, Rifleman Moar assured command and fearlessly engaged a strong party rushed up along a sap. His skill and gallantry at once became apparent, and the fine example set by him so inspired his men that they fought with great dash and never gave as inch until the flank movement having been successfully carried out, he was
ordered to withdraw his sections to their original position.'
