Military Medal 'On 4th June when being shelled one of the gun emplacements took fire. About 130 rounds including several high explosive were exploding and this man entered the ruined building, still under shell fire, and with assistance removed the whole of the ammunition, a total of 1,500 rounds. He also assisted in removing the gun from the burning emplacements.'
