Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. In the Bapaume Sector during operations August 13th/24th September 1918, this NCO while serving as Sergeant
Cook continuously supervised the preparation of hot food and drinks for the men, often under heavy shell fire and in close proximity to the front line. His gallantry under fire and way of organisation were largely responsible for the comfort and fitness of the men during the operations.'
