Medaille Barbatie si Credinta, 2nd Class (Roumania) 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On the 1st April 1918 at the rearguard action at the Wadisir. When the Circassians opened fire on the rearguard he at once dismounted and took up a position under the rocks. Before being forced to retire he inflicted severe losses on the enemy. By his coolness and gallantry under heavy fire he set a magnificent example to the rest of his comrades.'
