Wounded in action, 26 May 1917 (gun shot wound, right shoulder); admitted to No 3 NZ Field Ambulance, 27 May 1918; transferred to No 3 Canadian Stationary Hospital, 27 May 1918; to No 5 General Hospital, 28 May 1918; to No 26 Convalescent Hospital, 30 May 1918; to NZ Base Depot, Etaples, 6 June 1918; marched out to No 3 NZ Entrenching Bn, 16 June 1918.
