Wounded in action, 2 October 1916 (gun shot wound, hand); admitted to 26th General Hospital, 5 October 1916; transferred to England, 8 October 1916, and admitted to 1st Southern General Hospital, Birmingham, 9 October 1916; discharged to NZ Command Depot, Codford, 16 October 1916. Taken on strength, 5th Reserve Bn, Sling, 27 January 1917. Rejoined Bn, in the field, 25 May 1917, and posted to C Company. Killed in action, 12 October 1917.
