Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty near Havrincourt Wood on 12th September 1918. During the afternoon L/Corpl McIntyre was the leader in a Bombing Section which attempted to work down a trench to Snap Trench. The enemy were holding in force and could not be dislodged owing to the shortage of bombs. He arranged for a fresh supply of grenades and taking a new party with him again pushed down the sap and drove the enemy from the trench, killing and wounding many, and established a post. In all, this N.C.O. participated in four separate bombing attacks and preformed splendid work throughout the whole operations. The casualties to the Officers attached to his Company made his work all the more prominent. His cheerfulness and great personal bravery was an inspiration to all ranks.'
