Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty near Baupame on 27th August 1918. During the attack on the Baupame-Heugnatre Road Corporal McInnes's Platoon came under very heavy fire from an enemy post containing four Machine Guns. Corporal McInnes, in spite of the fire, mounted his Lewis Gun in the open and by the correctness and rapidity of his aim drove the enemy Machine Gunners from their guns and enabled the post to be rushed by a flank section. By his coolness and utter disregard for danger Corporal McInnes enabled the advance to proceed with slight casualties.'
