Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Later on the same day although badly wounded he continued for several hours to carry out his duties until ordered to report for evacuation. His devotion to duty was undoubtedly the means of saving many of his comrades who were exposed to heavy enemy fire.'
