Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack on Passchendaele Ridge on 12th October 1917. Whilst acting as Liaison NCO with a
flank battalion, Corporal McDonald carried out a personal reconnaissance at great risk, bringing back most valuable information. He was solely responsible for the connection kept between Units. He showed great skill and courage in all his work.'
