Military Medal 'During the enemy attack on the Colincamps front on the 5th April, he was acting as No. 1 of his sub section. The gun was completely in the open and for two hours the battery position was subjected to heavy hostile shelling. Two of his detachment were wounded but he kept his gun in action at full rate throughout
the whole attack. His courage and coolness at this critical time were a splendid example and were responsible in a large measure for the courage and devotion to duty displayed by the remnants of his detachment.'
