Admitted to No 2 Australian Stationary Hospital, Mudros, 14 July 1915 (diarrhoea); transferred to No 1 Stationary Hospital, 3 August 1915; to England, and admitted to Hampstead Military Hospital, 4 September 1915; discharged to Base Depot, Hornchurch, 12 January 1916. Embarked for Egypt, 24 March 1916. Embarked Port Said to join the British Expeditionary Force, France, 13 April 1916; rejoined 1st Bn, Canterbury Infantry Regiment, in the field, 23 May 1916. Attached to Divisional Train, 26 October 1916; rejoined Bn, 22 June 1917. On leave to England, 19 August1917; rejoined unit, in the field, 3 September 1917.
