Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the action near Bapaume on the 24th August 1918, after most of his Lewis gun section had become
casualties, Private Malloch took command of the gun and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy who were attempting to work round the flank. He carried on after being wounded, setting an inspiring example to his men.'
