Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in the field at Briastre on 12th October, 1918. This NCO commanded a bombing section in an attack on an enemy
machine gun post that was holding up the advance. He, with one private, rushed the post, put most of the crew to flight, and captured the gun with two prisoners. His prompt and courageous action saved many lives and enabled the objective to be consolidated.'
