Military Medal 'During an advance near Ypres on October 12th while carrying ammunition on pack mules to machine guns. Transport Train came under heavy machine gun fire in Forward Zone near Wareloo. Several of his comrades were wounded; one wounded driver fell into a shell hole and was in danger of drowning. Driver Lorgelly immediately rescued and attended the wounded man under intense machine gun fire, he himself being hit. He then dumped his ammunition and collected his mules, first unloading the wounded Mules. Through his coolness under heavy fire ammunition was dumped at the Guns and Pack Transport successfully withdrawn.'
