Wounded in action, 13 December 1917 (gun shot wounds, right wrist and forearm, right side, abdomen and right foot), and admitted to 3rd Canadian Casualty Clearing Station; placed on dangerously ill list, 13 December 1917; transferred to 2nd Australian General Hospital, Wimereux, 27 December 1917; to England, 4 January 1918, and admitted to Military Hospital, Bethnal Geen, London; removed from dangerously ill list, 5 January 1918; transferred to No 1 NZ General Hospital, Brockenhurst, 5 February 1918.
