Military Medal 'Operations opposite Polderhoek 27th November to 5th December 1917. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. As a Lewis Gunner, on 3rd December 1917 Private Leshke carried on alone after the others of his machine gun team had become casualties, and by careful use of the ammunition which remained, he inflicted many casualties on the enemy's Infantry and machine gunners. His accurate shooting enabled the advance to continue, and his work was a splendid example of adaptability and initiative during the advance. His gallantry was of the highest order, and was a magnificentexample to all his comrades.'
