Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty near Puisiex-au-Mont on 21st Augugust 1918. A strong Machine Gun post was holding up a portion of the advance and Riflemen Batty and Low and a third companion noticing this at once dashed forward to rush the post. The third man was killed but Batty and Low bombed the post and rushing forward captured the Machine Guns and the garrison of one Officer and 10 other ranks. By his coolness and decision Rifleman Batty saved many casualties and greatly assisted the advance.'
