Medals |
Distinguished Conduct Medal For marked gallantry and good work during the operations. During the attack on GOUZEAUCOURT in September his platoon commander became a casualty. He led his platoon splendidly and gained his objective, capturing seven machine guns and twenty-six prisoners, but after severe fighting was driven out by an attack on his flank. His patrol work has been of a very high standard, and much useful information has been gained therefrom. He constantly sets a very fine example to his men by coolness and daring under all circumstances.
