War service: Egypt, Gallipoli Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force (Gallipoli Campaign), 12 April 1915. Admitted to C Section, 2nd australian field Ambulance, 29 April 1915 (bruised back); transferred to No 2 Australian General Hospital, Cairo, 3 May 1915 (contusion of back). Embarked Alexandria, 26 May 1915; rejoined unit, Gallipoli, 4 June 1915. Admitted to NZ Field Ambulance, 2 July 1915; transferred to 1st Australian Stationary Hospital, Lemnos, 9 July 1915; discharged, 15 July 1915; rejoined unit, 16 July 1915. Wounded in action (second occasion), 8 August 1915 (bullet wound, thorax), and admitted to 4th Field Ambulance, and transferred to Base.
