Detached to 2nd NZ Infantry Brigade School, 19 December 1917; rejoined Bn, 20 December 1917.

Admitted to 2nd NZ Field Ambulance, 16 January 1918 (trench feet); transferred to 3rd Canadian Casualty Clearing Station, 18 January 1918; to 53rd General Hospital, Boulogne, 20 January 1918; to England, 24 January 1918, nd admitted same day to Military Hospital, Lewisham; Transferred to NZ Convalescent Hospital, Hornchurch, 17 March 1918; classified unfit by Medical Board and placed on NZ Roll, 3 May 1918.
