Admitted to No.3 NZ General Hospital, Codford, 3 December 1916 (collis forearm); transferred to Convalescent Depot, Hornchurch, 16 December 1916.

Declared, 3 February 1917, of being illegally absent from Hornchurch, 9 January 1917, that he is still absent, and there is nothing to show what government property is in his possession.

Admitted to Military Hospital, Kingston, 15 February 1917, and transferred to No.4 London General Hospital, the same day (memory loss).

Classified unfit for further service, 28 March 1917.

Decleared to be not responsible for absence between 23 December 1916 and 9 January 1917, and all reference to being a deserter cancelled.

Commenced return to New Zealand from Plymouth on board RMS 'Tainui', 26 April 1917; disembarked New Zealand, 6 July 1917; discharged (no longer physically fit for War Service on account of wounds received in action), 3 August 1917.
