Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On the night of 4th/5th September in front of Ruyalcourt Private Lambert was sent as a guide to pass through a heavy barrage of H.E. and gas. He reached the meeting place to time and guided the incoming Troops back to the line. Throughout the whole operation he did particularly good work as a Company runner.'
