Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry in action near Colincamps on the 27th March 1918 during a counter attack by his Company he led his Section with great dash, and during consolidating acted with great initiative in forming a defensive flank, at the same time displaying great personal courage in bringing in the wounded of his Section to a place of safety. On account of casualties he then took command of his platoon, and personally supervised consolidation with fine judgement and ability.'
