Military Medal

'Near Pont a Pierres on October 27th 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. His battery whilst marching along the road came under heavy fire from a 21cm Howitzer Battery. Driver Kennedy passed through the shelling safety, but on seeing one of the teams hit, he went back, and with great coolness and total disregard for personal safety assisted an NCO in the removal of wounded men and the cutting out of unwounded horses. By his conduct he set a splendid example to the men of the Battery and was largely instrumental in reducing the casualties.'
