Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the operations around Bapaume and near Gouzeaucourt Wood from August 26th to September 13th 1918. Jowers is a Company Runner and during the operations has been continually carrying messages to front Platoons. Although suffering from the effects of gas he made as many as 12 runs in one day. His work has been of the highest standard, fearless of danger and wrapped in the duty he had to perform.'
