Rejoined unit, 5 September 1915. Admitted to Floriana Military Hospital, Malta, 12 September 1915 (enteritis and septic leg); transferred to All Saints Camp, 21 October 1915; embarked for Egypt, 2 December 1915; rejoined unit, Ghezireh, 7 December 1915. Attached to 2nd ANZAC Headquarters, 16 January 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 6 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France (date not recorded). Proceeded on leave, 2 October 1916; rejoined unit from leave, 13 October 1916. On leave to United Kingdom, 11 November 1917; rejoined unit from leave, 26 November 1917. Transferred to No 2 NZ (A) EC, 15 January 1918.
