Wounded in action, 8 July 1916 (gun shot wound, right wrist), and admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance; transferred to No 8 Stationary Hospital, Wimereux, 9 July 1916; to England, 10 July 1916, and admitted to Military Hospital, Bethnal Green, 11 July 1916; discharged to NZ Convalescent Camp, Hornchurch, 12 September 1916.
