Wounded in action, 7 August 1915 (gun shot wound, variously described as head, face, right arm, left forearm); admitted to Hospital Ship, 8 August 1915, and transferred to Stationary Hospital, Mudros, 9 August 1915; transferred to hospital, Malta, 21 August 1915; to England, 26 August 1915, and admitted to Royal Victoria Hospital, Netley, 3 September 1915; attached to strength of NZ Base Depot, Grey Towers, 24 January 1916. Admitted to Depot Hospital, 15 March 1916 (venereal disease); discharged from hospital, 3 April 1916; attached to NZ Base Depot, Grey Towers, 6 April 1916.
