Mention in Despatches 'For devotion to duty and consistent good work. During the period of reorganisation after the Somme. The Battalion Lewis Gun Officer was detached. The bulk of the work of reorganising the Lewis Gun Section fell on Sergeant Barr. In this he showed particular ability and untiring energy. His work since, as well as during the Somme operations, has been most praiseworthy.' Awarded, and promulgated, 'London Gazette', 1 June 1917. |
