Military Medal 'Operations: British Front before Puisieux 14th-18th August 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During these operations Private Jackson was in charge of the Battalion Linesmen, and it was mainly due to his sustained efforts that communications to forward positions were kept up in a satisfactory condition. During an intense bombardment of the morning of the 18th August, when the enemy attacked our front, this man went out through a heavy barrage, regardless of danger, and re-established communication with the forward Company. He showed coolness and dash throughout, thereby setting a splendid example to others.'
