Military Medal 'Operations opposite Polderhoek 3rd to 5th December 1917. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the afternoon and night of 3rd December Corporal Hunter was in command of 20 stretcher bearers carrying in the wounded in No-Man's-Land. He made several trips with his party into No-Man's-Land, and did not cease in his efforts until all our wounded were removed. By his splendid example of gallantry and coolness under very heavy fire, and by his indefatigable energy he set a fine example to his men, who responded to the strenuous task set them, and effected the rescue of our wounded.'
