Embarked Wellington, 31 May 1916; disembarked Devonport, England, 26 July 1916, and marched into Sling Camp.

Proceeded overseas to France, 15 November 1916; joined 4th Bn, NZ Rifle Brigade, in the field, 8 December 1916, and posted to B Company, and relinquished appointment of Lance Corporal.

Killed in action, 12 October 1917.

Burial reported by 1st South African Training Brigade, 22 October 1917; grave subsequently lost.
