On 9.11.19 near Coegnies Chaussee he led a patrol to the enemy positions and obtained valuable information in spite of exposed position and enemy machinegun fire. This NCO has throughout these operations showed skilful leadership and a disregard for danger that afforded him excellent example to his men.'
