Military Medal 'As superintendent of the advanced Signal Office Hill 63, did excellent work on 6th June till the Division was relieved on the morning of 10th June. Owing to his ability and reliability the Forward Signal Officers were able to devote their attention almost entirely to communications in the battle area. During the night of 6/7th June the office personal had to wear respirators for 6 hours and from 8.30am to 2pm 7th June the neighbourhood was under a steady high explosive bombardment, one shell killing 2 men and wounding 2 others at the door of the office dugout.
