Military Medal 'On 29th August 1918 Bapaume (H33d). While coming into action the Battery was heavily shelled and "D" sub. gun team, drivers and gunners were all killed or wounded. Sgt Holder was the only one of his detachment left. He immediately set about rescuing the wounded from among the horses, shot horses and throughout showed great courage and coolness under heavy fire. When others come to his assistance he set a splendid example to them all'
