Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On the 1st October 1918, during an attack on Crevecoeur L/Corporal Henson, together with another linesman maintained a line from Battalion Headquarters to the forward troops during a determined enemy counter attack. Notwithstanding the fact that the whole of the forward area was subject to an intense enemy artillery and machine-gun barrage. L/Corporal Henson kept up communication during a most critical period. He showed great gallantry and mainly by his efforts he enabled his Commanding Officer to deal effectively with the enemy movement.'
