Embarked Wellington, 29 July 1916; disembarked Devonport, England, 28 September 1916, and attached to 5th Reserve Bn, Sling Camp.

Proceeded overseas to France, 10 October 1916; joined 2nd Bn, NZ Rifle Brigade, in the field, 24 October 1916, and posted to B Company.

Admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance, 20 January 1917 (tonsillitis); rejoined unit, 1 February 1917.

Killed in action, 7 June 1917.
