Proceeded overseas to France, 1 March 1917; marched in to Base Depot, Etaples, 3 March 1917. Mached out to Segregation, 10 April 1917; marched in to Base Depot from Segregation, 26 May 1917. Joined 2nd Bn, Canterbury Infantry Regiment, in the field, 3 June 1917. Admitted to No 3 NZ Field Ambulance, 18 July 1917 (sprained ankle), and transferred to 9th Australian Field Ambulance; discharged to duty, 29 July 1917; rejoined Bn, in the field, 31 July 1917. Accidental injury: soldier in no way to blame; no disciplinary action to be taken, 3 September 1917. Reported wounded in action, 12 October 1917.
