Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On the morning of the 25th August 1918 near Biefvillers, Sergeant Hall, with great dash and courage, led his platoon to the attack. In spite of dense fog he kept his men well under control and captured the objective, where he immediately established touch on both flanks and reorganised his men ready to continue the advance. In the evening of the same day his platoon again attacked, and Sergeant Hall was conspicuous for his good leadership and gallantry under fire. His conduct had a splendid effect on the men and his platoon captured the second objective. Once more, on his own initiative, he reorganised throughly and consolidated the captured ground. Later on the 5th September Sergeant Hall was wounded while leading his platoon in another attack. Throughout the operations he has shown great bravery and consistently good leadership.'
