Military Medal 'On 23rd October near St. Julien. This N.C.O. was in charge of a gun being taken to a forward position, when it was caught in a heavy enemy barrage necessittating temporary abandonment. Knowing the importance of moving the gun that day, Sergeant Hall persisted in his attempts to return and finally succeeded in doing so, and hauling the gun forward despite wounds incurred.'
