Wounded in action, 8 May 1917 (gun shot wound, right hand), and admitted to No 3 NZ Field Ambulance; transferred to No 2 Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 12 May 1917; to No 13 General Hospital, 14 May 1917; to No 7 Convalesecent Depot, 18 May 1917; to Base Depot, Etaples, 28 May 1917; to 24th General Hospital, Etaples, 1 July 1917 (gun shot wound, right hand); to Base Depot, Etaples, 11 July 1917; rejoined unit, in the field, 24 August 1917.
