Croix de Guerre (Belgium) 'For conspicuous good work and coolness under fire while in Ypres Sector from 1st December 1917 to 20th March 1918. During this period Geary had charge of a
Section employed on construction and maintenance of Light Railway from Wattle Dump to Crucifix Dump. By his coolness under fire he encouraged his men to do a
maximum amount of work often under trying and difficult conditions.'
