Disinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty at CREVECOEUR on the 1st October, 1918. He constructed a footbridge for infantry under heavy fire, and though repeatedly driven off by the fire, returned with his men unil the bridge was completed. The next day he completed another bridge in the time required, though constantly under shell and machine-gun fire. His skill and tenacity were most marked.'
