Military Medal 'On October 12th 1917 near Kansas Crossroads N.E. of Ypres he showed the greatest coolness determination and disregard for personal safety during heavy shell fire whilst employed on forward road formation. His marked bravery set a splendid example to all. His coolness and bravery at all times has been most marked.'
