Military Medal 'For skill and especially good work during a daylight Raid on 5th June 1917, on Le Petite Douve Farm, east of Hill 63. Although in the most exposed position of the Raiding Party, and subjected to heavy machine gun fire, he unhesitatingly carried out his duties, making a valuable reconnaissance of the enemy front Line and Communication Trenches. This Non Commissioned officer has done consistently good work since the arrival of the Division in France, and has on many occasions displayed great gallantry in the field.'
