'For exceptionally good work and general all round efficiency during the period 18th September 1918 up to the cessation of hostilities 11th November 1918 and afterwards. This NCO was always reliable and cool under fire and set a good example to his platoon.'

Croix de Guerre (Belgium)

'For exceptionally good work and coolness under fire while in Ypres Sector from 1st December 1917 to 20th March 1918. Pomana had charge of a Section of men employed on Light Railway construction and digging of Overseas Trench. He always did his work well although his platoon was frequently heavily engaged. Notwithstanding this he encouraged his men and set a splendid example to the rest of his platoon.'
