Medals

Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty near Fremicourt on 30th August 1918. During the attack on Fremicourt Sergeant Glentworth made a personal reconnaissance of the captured line under heavy artillery and machine gun fire. Later he again crossed 300 yards of open ground and bound up and brought back to our line a wounded man. Again on the morning of the 31st when the enemy counter-attacked under a barrage Sergeant Glentworth took charge of two platoons and so disposed them that they cut off reinforcements for the enemy attack. This enabled us to capture 50 enemy who had filtered through our lines. During the whole of the operations Sergeant Glenworth has shown himself to be a cool and skilful leader.'
