Meritorious Service Medal 'For gallantry and continuous good service. He did particularly good work as a section commander in the operations near Passchendaele on October 12th 1917,and again northe east of Ypres during an attempted raid on our lines. He was principally responsible for repelling the raiders, and, though himself wounded, went out and assisted another wounded man back to our lines.'
