Military Medal 'Messines Offensive 7th to 9th June 1917. This soldier in company with Lance Corporal Hewitt in the attack on Messines on June 7th 1917 showed great courage and boldness in successfully attacking an enemy machine-gun, destroying the crew and capturing the gun, thus clearing the way for the assaulting waves.'
